In 2003 I began an experiment very different from my modern stlye: Cut paintings. Many dozen experiments later, my curiosity is still delighted by the unexpected ways color and form combine. I find the shifting, pulsating forms and play of contrast hypnotic.

These artworks are created from two individual paintings. They are cut...then woven or reassambled into new juxtapositions.

I have always been attracted to optical art. The sense of vibrating disorientation mimics a condition of my eyes: Nystagmus. Since I was very young my eyes vibrate involuntarily, often rendering the world a shaky, trance inducing place. As an adult I discovered the audible counterpart of this experience: Electronica; especially psytrance music.

Most of the paintings here were created while listening to sounds that can induce powerfully altered states.

I invite the viewer to unfocus the eyes, clear the mind, and drift where the frequncies take you. As always, these works look best in real life.
